DIY Guestbook

Here's a cute and relatively easy way to create a totally unique guestbook.  I can't take full credit for this idea;  my mom did this for my Sweet Sixteen (and yes, that is a grammatically correct semi colon :)).  It's a fun project and it's a great way to remember your big day!

In this guestbook, each guest (or couple) will have his/her own individual page.  If you start this project early (and you should), start with the people you know will for sure be there (like your parents) and continue creating pages as RSVPs come in.  You also might want to include a few blank pages for unexpected guests.  At the wedding, each guest will sign his or her own page.  You then compile all the pages together to create a guestbook scrapbook.  You can also add in pages showing off important moments from your day once you have your wedding pictures.

Here is an example of a finished page and the super simple steps it took to complete it:

Here are the supplies that you will need:

I bought an 8" by 8" scrapbook, but found 8.5" by 11" paper in the colors that I wanted.  I cut the paper to 7.75" by 7.75" and used the extra paper for accents.  You will also need plain white paper, decorative and regular scissors, some sort of adhesive dots, letter stamps and stamp pad and decorative stickers (if you want).

Let's get started!

First, attach a colored strip to one of your scrapbook pages.  Remember, if you cut down 8.5" by 11" paper, these strips will be ready made for you.

Then using your letter stamps, stamp out the name of the person or couple.  If you are a perfectionist like I am, this can take some time.  One trick I found useful: ink up the stamp, then run a Q-tip along the edges to get rid of excess ink.  Then you won't get those pesky edges stamped on your paper.

Use your decorative scissors to cut out the stamped names.

Attach the names to a piece of colored paper (I used a different color from the background and stripe) and cut to size.

Attach the completed name card to your scrapbook sheet.

Add a decorative sticker, and your page is done!

The stamping is definitely the most time consuming part of this project, but even with that, this page took me about ten minutes to complete.  This is a project to start early and work on often.  Then, by the time the wedding comes around, you will have a super cute and YOUnique guestbook that you will want to look at over and over!

Stayed tuned for more creative ideas and projects!  Also, feel free to share your own projects with me!
